w0rld typically uses the device's main connection type to summon, and the simplest available option for battling (often called "other"). For example, on the Digital Monster X, w0rld uses the "X" option to summon and the "OTHER" option to battle. The type of signal used for battles is w0rld's Battle Type.

w0rld requires a battle scan from your V-pet for every battle in-game. However, it is possible to substitute another Digimon on the same device, or another device which accepts the same Battle Type. This can be useful to save DP or injuries on the summoned Digimon, or if the summoned device is slow at battling, or to gain battles on a weaker Digimon.
