This vast area filled with metallic sands ...
This vast area filled with metallic sands extends through the east os File Island. Rich with metal resources, most of machinery comes from there, and also ends there to be grinded and eroded after they expend their cycles, to return to the rich metallic sand embrace.  
 
It used to host the Great Factory, where the metals from the desert were converted and shaped into useful machinery once again, to serve all kind of purposes. Nowadays the Factory lays crumbled, and digimon are strugling to restore the previous virtuous cycle that provided with new machinery products to W0rld. Unless the process is promtly restored, there may be shortages on technological products in the foreseable future.
